Birthdate could be Jan or Jun. There is some controversy over the spelling of his name. It's either Ephraim, or Ephriam as suggested by other FAG members.

Mr. David E. Willis, 87 years of age, veteran of the Civil War, great uncle of Mr. T.F. Willis, of Erwin, died at his home at Clear Branch, near here, yesterday morning.

Mr. Willis, who had previously enjoyed good heath for one of his advanced age, suffered a stroke of paralysis about a week ago and had never regained consciousness but had slept continuously since that time until yesterday morning, when a second stroke resulted in his death.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two children and several children of an earlier marriage.

The funeral services will be conducted from the residence of the deceased at 10 today, by the Rev. A.C. Sherwood, of Erwin, after which the burial will take place at the Smith Cemetery, at Clear Branch. *Source- Johnson City Chronicle, Aug. 29, 1924, Page 4
