OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — The Rev. Willie H. Aiken went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Mae Grant Aiken; three children, the Rev. Tom Aiken and wife, Paulette, Doug Aiken and wife, Jeannie, and Janet Ledford and husband, Spencer; seven grandchildren, Dwight (wife, Danielle), Bradley (wife, Jennifer), Aaron (wife, Stephanie), Michael (wife, Nicole), Zachary, and Kelsey; and five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Lauren, Abigail, Zoe, and Rylan.
Reverend Aiken was a bi-vocational pastor for over 35 years. He retired from Y-12 plant after 38 years of loyal service. Reverend Aiken pastored several churches in the area including Tuppertown, Bethel, Pine Hill, Poplar Creek, and Childs Memorial Baptist Church as well as numerous interims before retiring. His passion was serving his Lord and sharing Christ. He also served in the U.S. Army and received several distinguished awards. Reverend Aiken lived his life dedicated to God, family and his country.
The family invites you to come celebrate the life of the Rev. Aiken at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge at 8 p.m. Monday, May 7. The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. before the service.
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
