Jesse Roland Aiken was the son or Gus Mermon and Margaret Ann (or Ann Margaret) Aiken, Rosman, North Carolina. On June 16, 1943, he married Thelma Lowe, the daughter of William Harvey and Maudie Pauley Lowe, and granddaughter of Charles Brown and Susannah Millie Fraley, and Ambrose Sherman and Melinda Morris Pauley. Their children were David Raymond, Loretta Jean, and Paul Edwin.
