World War II veteran who earned a Purple Heart after being wounded in Germany. He went back to Massachusetts and worked for the state highway department. He helped clean up debris from the Worcester Tornado in 1953.
In 1948 he married Gladys (Ashton) Maynard. The couple had four children: William "Billy", Thomas Peter, Ellen Mary, and Charlotte Ann. He also raised two step-sons; Arthur "Artie" and James "Jimmy".
He died suddenly on Labor Day, 1967. It was just before the Red Sox went to the World Series. He would have loved to see those games, since he was a die hard fan.
