John Tom Cox was the son of Burton Cox and Mary Jane Bond.
John was a farmer and store owner. In 1933 he was elected County Judge of Anderson County and served until his death. John married first to Bessie Oma Black on August 3, 1898. After Bessie passed, John married Leva Ann Hawkins on August 12, 1913. John and Leva had children: Mary Elizabeth, Mildred Ann, and John, Jr.
