Mildred Anne Cox Hodson, 94, passed away October 29, 2022 at Homestead Post-Acute in Lexington, KY.

Born in Lawrenceburg on April 15, 1928, Mildred was the daughter of the late Judge John T. Cox and Leva Ann Hawkins Cox. In 1946 she was a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School and later graduated from Wesleyan College.

Mildred worked with her mother at her ladies' retail clothing store, The Mrs. Cox Shop, in downtown Lawrenceburg which opened in 1944. She became co-owner in 1965, with her sister, Mary Cox Hensley, and sister-in-law, Alice Davis Cox. She worked actively at the store until the age of 92. Mildred was an accomplished artist and taught lessons for many years at Mickey's Craft Gallery. She was a member of The Bluegrass Tolers – Society of Decorative Painters. Ever busy, she also traveled as the Chaperon for The America's Junior Miss Program throughout the US and Internationally. She loved her art buddies and had many cherished friendships across the US.

Her family includes her son, Robert Jeffrey Hodson (Carol Weimer), two grandchildren, Robert J. Baglio (Stephanie) and Ashton Copeland, and two great grandchildren, Christopher Baglio and Nicholas Baglio. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lydia Anne Hodson Copeland, a sister Mary Elizabeth Cox Hensley, a brother John T. "JT" Cox Jr., a half-sister Bessie Cox Qualls, and a half-brother Wilbur Cox.

Visitation will be 11 am – 1 pm Friday, November 11, 2022 followed by the service beginning at 1:00 pm Friday, Nov. 11th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Al Peach will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ashton Copeland, Patrick Buxton, John Cox, Douglas Briscoe, Jack Pattie, and Brent Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church, 563 Carlton Dr., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 or Kentucky United Methodist Children's Homes, 1115 Ashgrove Rd., Nicholasville, KY 40356 or Bluegrass Hospice Care Navigators, 1733 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY 40504.
