In 1934 she and her husband Gunnar Myrdal published the book Crisis in the Population Question in which they advocated solutions that later led to sterilization of gypsies and vagrants - people who were considered "inferior" at the time. She also fought for disarmament and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1982.
