Reverend Ladislaus Rosko was a retired Pastor of St. Margaret of Hungary Parish for more than 40 years. Father Rosko's parents names were Paul and Kathy Rosko. His mother's maiden name was (Mascak)(they are deceased). Rev. Rosko had two brothers and one sister they are also deceased. He was an uncle of Kathy and Michael Justin. Fr. Rosko was born July 3, 1924 at Nadost by Kassa - Kosice, Slovakia. This was an area that had a large Hungarian Population. He was ordained a priest on August 24, 1952 in Germany at the Archdiocese of Kolon. He entered the Diocese of Cleveland serving as an assistant at Fairport Harbor. Reverend Ladislaus Rosko served since 1965 at St. Margaret's of Hungary Church (located at E.116th St. & Buckeye Rd.),in Cleveland's Hungarian Neighborhood. The Hungarian Neighborhood lasted basicaly from 1880 to 1980. Rev. Rosko would perform Mass in both English and Hungarian. St. Margaret's of Hungary Church was sold and the original stained glass windows were removed and some were installed in the new church.The new Church was built on land that was donated many years before by the original owners of the land which were also church members. This new church was built from 1989-1990 and located on Lander Rd. & Pike Dr. in Orange Village,Ohio. This was also the Church's picnic grounds. Rev. Rosko served at the new church as well, until Bishop Lennin closed it and many other churches in the cleveland area and cuyahoga county. St. Margaret's of Hungary Church closed on November 1, 2009. Fr. Ladilaus Rosko will lie in state at St. Andrew's Abbey at 2900 MLK Jr. Dr. behind Benedictine High School, in Cleveland. Fr. Rosko was visited by family, friends and past parishioners on Monday April 2, 2012, from 9a.m. to 10a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial started at 10a.m. with Bishop Roger Gries was the principal celebrant. Fr. Rosko was laid to rest at the Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery on Miles Ave,also in Cleveland. Memorial donations (only) were suggested to St. Andrew's Abbey. The Funeral and Burial were performed by the Frank Hartman Funeral Home & Service.

note: Rev. Rosko's date of death was either March 27 or March 28, 2012. not sure of date.
note: When you ever saw Rev. Rosko around the church, St. Margaret's credit union, The Rectory or just walking down E.116th, you would see him wearing his large black parsons hat. (G.G.K III)
