Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Sorrells and Sons Chapel for Zachery Shelton, 65, who died Friday morning at a Greenville hospital after a year-long illness. The Rev. Bob Layman will officiate and burial will follow at East Mount Cemetary (sic).

Shelton, the son of T.M. and Mary F. Guthrie Shelton, was born in Greenville on March 15, 1909. He married Elizabeth Clements on Sept. 22, 1935. He was a retired optician and belonged to the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three brothers, Dr. H.M. Shelton of San Antonio, Roy Shelton of Greenville and Sam Shelton of Irving; and four sisters, Alta Mae Broome of Fort Worth, Willit (sic) Tate of New Orleans, Juanita Haecker of Houston and Grace Slade of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by a son and daughter.
