Lucy Harris was born August 20, 1815, to parents, James Harris and Prudence Harris, who were first cousins, in Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York.

Lucy had siblings are: James Hiram; Daniel; James Harvey; Hiram Horace; Prudence; an unnamed infant; Caroline; Mary Ann; Elizabeth; Nellora; Jonas Rude; and Edwin Harris.

Lucy's grandparents are: Daniel Harris and Lucy Fox and Nathan Harris, Jr. and Prudence Parke.

Lucy married Cleon Reddick, May 15, 1839, in McDonough County, Illinois. Cleon worked as a grocery and dry goods store owner and as a farmer. Lucy and her family, later, moved to Andrew County, Missouri.

Lucy's and Cleon's sons are: John; James, who died young; Desaix; Napoleon; James Harris; and Jonas Rude Redick.

Their daughters are: Prudence; and Nellora Redick.

Lucy's family spelled their surname, "Reddick" before the Civil War, and her branch of the family spelled their surname, "Redick" after the Civil War.

Lucy and her family moved to Texas about 1870. She passed away May 27, 1895, in Denison, Grayson County, Texas. She is buried beside Cleon at Shannon Cemetery in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas.

Lucy Harris Redick experienced many blessings, joys, and adversities in life. She has many descendants and extended Harris family members throughout Texas, Missouri, Illinois, New York, and the U.S. who love and remember her.
