Eliab Turner Whitney, son of Josiah and Hannah (Turner) Whitney, was born 17 Dec 1789, Gaspé, Lower Canada, and died 2 Apr 1866, Edgecomb, ME. He is buried in the cemetery opposite the Baptist Church, Edgecomb, ME, next to his son Benjamin.
He married firstly, before 1812, Lydia Butterworth, daughter of William Butterworth. She died 1827.
He married secondly, 1827, Cape Breton, NS, Lydia M. Williams. She was born 10 Sep 1810, Salem, MA, and died in 1893 in Bath, ME. She is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath, ME.
He was a cooper. He resided in Ship Harbor (now Port Hawkesbury), NS, New Castle and Edgecomb, ME.
