Tess Slesinger was a novelist and screen writer. She moved to Hollywood to work for MGM in 1937 after writing two successful books, 'The Unpossessed' and 'Time: the Present." She wrote for 12 films including the classics: 'The Good Earth,' 'The Bride Wore Red' and 'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.' Tess was the mother of producer/director Peter Davis.
