Former Winn Parish Sheriff James Edward "Buddy" Jordan died today, Feb. 21, in his home in Winnfield. He was 69.
Jordan served as Winn Parish sheriff from 1992 to 2008. He had served as chief deputy under Sheriff Dan Page from 1976-1988.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, in First Baptist Church of Winnfield with Dr. Calvin Phelps and the Rev. John Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Visitation is set for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Buddy Jordan was not related to Cranford Jordan, who was elected in November and will take over as Winn Parish sheriff in July.
