DODGE COUNTY PIONIER, Tuesday November 8,1904//In dem Heim ihres Schweigersohnes A.Theo.Zillisch und Frau in der ersten Ward in Mayville starb am vorigen Sonntag [November 6]Abend um 9 Uhr 30 Minuten die hochbelagte Frau Maria Elisabeth Stuetze.Die Verstorbene,eine geb.Stoff wurde am 18.Oktober 1824 in Ostheim,Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach,Deutschland,geboren und wanderte im Jahre 1832 als Kind nach Amerika aus.Ihr Gatte ging ihr im Tode voraus.Die Verstorbene hinterlaesst fuenf Toechter,naemlich:Frau Emilia Beverung und Frau A.Theo.Zillisch in Mayville, Frau Maria Elisabeth Wehner in Evergreen California,Frau Ida Rendtorff und Frau Laura Nuelsen in Chicago. Die sterblichen Ueberreste werden morgen nach Milwaukee ueberfuehrt und dort am Donnerstag auf dem "Forest Home"Friedhofe zur letzten Ruhe beigesetzt werden.

**Elderly Maria Elizabeth Stuetze died in the home of her son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Theo. Zilisch, of the 1st ward of Mayville, last Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m.. The deceased, nee Staff, was born at Ostheim, Saxony Weimer Eisenauch, Germany October 18, 1824 and came to America as a child in 1832. Her husband preceded her in death. The departed leaves behind five daughters: Mrs. Emilia Beverung and Mrs. A. Theo. Zilisch of Mayville; Mrs. Maria Elisabeth Wehner of Evergreen, California; Mrs. Ida Rendlorff and Mrs. Laura Nuelsen of Chicago. The mortal remains will be transferred to Milwaukee and then on Thursday they will be laid to final rest on Forest Home Cemetery.

Last Saturday evening at 8:30 o'clock, at the home of her daughters, Mmes. A. T. Zilisch and Emelia Beverung, occurred the death of Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Steutze, at the advanced age of 80 years and 18 days.


Maria Elizabeth Staff was born in Ostheim, Saxe Weimer, Eisenbach, Germany, Oct. 18, 1824. In 1832 she came to this country to make her home here. She was united in marriage to Mr. Gustav Stuetze, who preceded her in death many years ago. This union was blest with five daughters. They are Mmes. Augusta Zilisch and Emelia Beverung of this city, Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Wehner of Evergreen, California, and Mmes. Ida Rendorff and Laura Nuelsen of Chicago. The family formerly lived in Milwaukee and Chicago but in 1869 Mrs. Stuetze came to this city to make her home.


The funeral will be held Thursday at Milwaukee, with interment on Forest Home cemetery.
