Daughter of Warner Wesley Jr. and Gladys Frye Wesley.

Wife of Fred Ivory, mother of Fred Ivory and Gladys Baxter, sister of Richard Wesley, Warner Wesley III, Pearl Parker, Janie Edwards, and Elsie Burwell.

She was a graduate of Virginia State College and had an M.A. degree in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin.

In 1970 she became the Blue Ridge School's fist African-American teacher. Mrs. Ivory, taught art and was Head of the Art Department for many years before leaving the School.

She was an outstanding artist in Virginia. Her work was represented in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She was represented in a number of shows, public and private.

She is remembered as a woman of dignity & culture.
