Verna was born on Sept. 23 1911, in Davidson County, daughter of Franklin Hughes and Sarah Wright. Her father was killed by the Davidson county sheriff 3 days before Christmas in 1919.
Mrs. Lambeth was employed at the Carolina Underwear before retiring. She was a member of Southgate Baptist Church. In 1941, she was married to Foy Raymond Lambeth. He died March 2, 1969.
Surviving are daughters, Ms. Judy Lambeth Hill and Mrs. Edith Gallimore, both of Thomasville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Verna's daughter Edith was with spouse Joe Snyder and her 2nd daughter Judith was with spouse Foy Raymond Lambeth.
