Mr. Bernie Cromer, 68, of Columbia, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, following an extended illness.

Mr. Cromer was a native of Marshall County. He was an Army veteran and was retired from the sales and marketing department of the Nashville office of Pittman & Associates. He was a member of the National Life Underwriters and an avid antique car enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wallace and Virginia Aline Brown Cromer.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Chambers Cromer of Columbia; sons, Jeff Cromer and Joey (Mary Ruth) Cromer, both of Columbia; sister, Hester Landis of Chapel Hill; brother, Buddy Cromer of College Grove; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home, with Rev. Wayne Morgan and Robert Seals officiating, followed by burial at Lone Oak Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Oliver Brown, Jackie Cooper, David Johns, Bobby Jacobs, Philip Daughrity, and Billy Batte.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Forrest High School Class of 1957; Willowbrook Hospice employees, especially Kim, Margie, and Steve; and Walter Jewell, Jim Lester, Earl Rose, Jerry Young, and Ralph Wilson.
