Agnes Collins was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Sophie Newcomb College. During World War I she served with a rescue unit of the welfare council of France and later with American forces in Germany. After the war ended she moved to the District of Columbia where she joined the personnel division of the National Catholic Welfare Council. She was the Director of Teacher Placement. She died at age 80 on Wednesday, November 24, 1971 at Providence Hospital. She was a resident of 4000 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest. She was predeceased by her brother, Major General James L. Collins. Survivors included two brothers, General J. Lawton Collins, United States Army, retired and former Army Chief of Staff of the District and Bernard L. Collins of Montgomery, Alabama and one sister, Mrs. Margaret MacDonald of the Massachusetts address. Requiem Mass was said at the Church of the Annunciation at 39th Street and Massachusetts Avenue Northwest. Interment was private.
