Danalee W. Saar, 81, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, died peacefully, May 13, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center-Beaches surrounded by her family. She was born December 24, 1922 in Cherokee, Kansas and moved to Jacksonville Beach in 1986 from Gay, Georgia. She was a retired Special Education Teacher and was a member of Palms Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Saar enjoyed ceramics and was a founder and president of the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Atlanta.
Family members include her children, Beverly Saar (Dr. George M.) Stubbs of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Rebecca L. Leone of Jacksonville Beach and Bruce R. (Barbara Weigel) Saar of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Jeanette E. Bottoms of LaSalle, Utah and grandchildren, Mary Ellen Kastelic of Jacksonville Beach and Alex Robert Saar of Jacksonville.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday May 17 in the Palms Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Thomas Walker and the Reverend Carol DiGiusto, officiating, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium of Palms Presbyterian. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palms Presbyterian Church or to the Humane Society.
