She is survived by her daughter, Sarah M. Lanier of Charleston, S.C., one sister, Marquerite Beasley of Farnham, Va., two grandsons, Douglas Mercer Lanier of Portsmouth, N.H., and David Lathan Lanier of Atlanta, Ga., one granddaughter, Patricia L. Granfield of Charlotte, N.C. and three great-grandchildren.
