Pearl City, Ill. – Mrs. Minnie Plager, widow of Simon Plager, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 4, 1945, at 4 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Koser of Pearl City. (Alice Horner's note: This family used both the Ploeger and Plager spellings of their surname. Simon Plager's obituary in 1930 has it spelled Ploeger, but Minnie's here was spelled Plager. Their son Raymond's is spelled Ploeger. I have kept Raymond's spelled Ploeger largely because he didn't marry. But his father's name I've changed to Plager, since the Plager spelling is used in obituaries after his death which refer to him. I didn't personally know this family in the 1930-1960 era, so I don't know which spelling they used.)

Mrs. Plager's maiden name was Minnie Bush and she was the daughter of Frederick and Henrietta Bush. (Alice Horner's note: The older generations of this family used the Busch spelling also.) She was born in Freeport March 30, 1859, and was married to Simon Plager March 24, 1879. He preceded her in death a number of years ago. She is survived by three children, Mrs. Koser, Mrs. Nora Thomas of Pearl City, and Mrs. Ella Eichmeier of Freeport. Five children preceded her in death. A brother and a sister also survive, Simon Bush and Mrs. Martha Keil, both of Freeport. There are also 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at Eichmeier & Becker Funeral Home, with services at 2 at Zion Evangelical Church, Pearl City, of which she was a member. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. (Alice Horner's note: Zion Cemetery was later called Sabin Cemetery.)
