Reba Annis Chappell Madden, 88, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2004, at her home in Newburgh, surrounded by her family.

Reba was a member of the North Friendship General Baptist Church in Lynnville, where she was very active, and the Lynnville Order of the Eastern Star. She worked at Harvey's Sport Shop in Boonville for many years.

Reba enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren, sister and the rest of her family.

Reba is survived by her daughters, Janie Chappell and her children, Jake and Rachael Seits of Evansville, and Lynn Jones and her husband, Tony, of Newburgh, who were her caregivers for the past six years; one son, David Chappell and his wife, Sheila, and their children, Samantha and Elizabeth of Lorton, Va.; one sister, Laverne Scales and her husband, Bert, of Boonville; stepsons, Allen Madden and his children, Ronald Madden, his wife Joan, and their children, and Gary Madden, his wife, Carolyn, and their children; and many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Reba was preceded in death by her first husband, Haskell Chappell; her second husband, Lester Madden; her mother, Artie Chambers; her father, Luther Chambers; a brother, James Chambers; and niece, Phyllis Draper.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Bradley's Colonial Chapel in Boonville, with Rev. Jeff Harford presiding.

Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery, north of Boonville.

Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Bradley's Colonial Chapel in Boonville, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home in Boonville.

Contributions in memory of Reba may be made to North Friendship General Baptist Church or the Deaconess/Ohio Valley Hospice.
