Father: Warren (Alias Wiley in 1870 census) Sanders Owens (1838-1891)
Mother: Mary Jane McCall (1840-1863)
Sister: Clara "Allie" Alabama Owens
Brother: Edward S Owens (1869-1956) m. Rachel Neese

Eola Kate Pelham Hildreth
Info found on Alabama: m. James David Sikes (murdered in his saloon) # 5830735; 3 daughters and possibly a son.

Family records show born and died in Brundidge,Pike County, Alabama, with dates; once resided in Tanyard, Pike County, Alabama. Father and step mother moved to Texas after 1870. (See Warren's father at Memorial# 9718399.) One census says"Georgiana." Family records say "Georgia Ann." Several uncles served in CSA, Augusta as a company commander, and family listed in 1880 census all with an apparent alias (to keep low profile from occupation Union army?).

Message from "tedrother" at ancestry: If you take the children listed in 1870 with 'Edward S.' and match the birth dates and in most cases the initials, you have Elijah's family, at least those still at home. Further, 'Wiley S.' is listed immediately before 'Edward S. age 62'. William T. is listed immediately after him. Most, if not all, sons were Confederate soldiers. Some joined the 1st Alabama Infantry before the war began[Feb,1861]. Augustus H. was a captain and company commander. It makes a lot of sense that Elijah would take such measures to protect his family from them Yankees.

John Phillip Johnston surveyed Bethel Cemetery in 1969, and then E. H. Hayes re-surveyed this cemetery on 02 Nov 1971. Their surveys were the source of the Pike County Alabama Tombstone Records published on 26 Oct 1972.

...there appear to be four (4) graves in this area. It is clear that Allie Julia's grave is on the left, and the headstone is intact with the base. The second grave from the left has the broken headstone which reads Georgie Anna (Not ANN). The third grave from the left shows what appears to be a newer headstone for Georgie Anna that is still intact, but the headstone is not in the base. The fourth grave from the left has the lower portion of the headstone still in the base, and perhaps that was the grave of Georgia Anna's original headstone since the remaining portion reads......"She was a kind............" So, perhaps other family members are buried in this same area???? It does appear that the bases of each grave are very similar.
