Myra Beck Lanning, 73, of School Street, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at The Timberlake Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home by the Rev. Billy Joe Leonard. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lanning was born March 8, 1926, in Davidson County to Wesley Odell Beck and Mary Coggins Beck. She was a retired employee of Lexington Telephone Co.; a member of First Lutheran Church, the PBWA and Women's Auxiliary of the VFW. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Kenneth Lanning, who died in August 1997.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Donna Lanning and Donnie Dudney; a son and his wife, Charles Kenneth Lanning and Ginger Rush of Lexington; three grandchildren, Christopher Hester of Dillon, S.C., and Kindra Lanning Young and Chad Dudney, both of Lexington; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Nicole Young of Lexington and Kelsey Hester and Chase Hester, both of Dillon, S.C.; and two brothers, Ned Beck of Lexington and Jake Beck of Waynesboro, Ga.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
