He was born February 1, 1919, in Madison County, Arkansas, the son of William Francis and Bessie Lee Huckaby Evans, and was reared in the Rock Community. He was a veteran of World War II, a farmer and a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; one son; his mother; four brothers; and seven sisters.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 27, 1976 at 10 a.m. in Rock Church with Jack Garner officiating. Burial was in Rambo cemetery under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville, Arkansas.
