Mrs. Morris was born April 13, 1922, in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late H. Arais and Nancy A. Eaton Shifflett.
She was a homemaker, and enjoyed auctions and spending time with family.
On March 13, 1943, she married Leonard Nim Morris, who preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1991. She is survived by sons, Ronnie Morris of Stanardsville, Darrell Morris of Shenandoah, and Milford Morris and Willard Morris, both of Elkton; daughters, Wanda Sutherland and Dian Wright, both of Shenandoah, Karen Shifflett of Stanardsville, and Bonnie Stepp, Linda Smith, Patricia Royer and Juanita Shifflett, all of Elkton; 31 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Ralph Morris and Hershel Morris; a daughter, Evelyn J. Conley; five brothers and three sisters; and grandchildren, Amy Payne and Danny Conley. Mrs. Morris was the last surviving member of her family.
The Rev. Robert Wagner will conduct the funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Morris' body will be taken to the family home, where the family will receive friends at any time.
