Jim Parrish, USN, CW4, Ret. b. 27 Mar 1918 to Benjamin Blackmon Parrish and Janie Hayden Mills Parrish, the second of three children. A graduate of Medina High School, he was a Submarine veteran of WWII. Upon retirement he was employed with the Orange County, California Health Department as the Vector Control Specialist. He had a third career as one of the first individuals to serve (for the State of Tennessee) as a leader for the first Medicare/Medicaid Survey teams for Nursing Homes. He was a renown Master of the Hounds having descended from generations of Parrish fox hunters and hound breeders. He was active in California Boy Scouts of America. The father of six children, Jim Parrish, ironically died in a boating accident at Wheeler Dam Alabama, fishing, on Sunday which in the family of his mother and father was forbidden. He was a superior chef having inherited the desire for great meals and a superior story teller, who could entertain all fox hunters and family members for hours with tales of family and exploits of his life around the world. He is sorely missed.
