Ursuline nun of the Roman Catholic Church
Died in the 91st year of her age and the 65th year of her religous profession.

Her parents were Augustin Carabin and Catherine Hettel Carabin.
Augustin came with his family to Peru, Bronson Township from Leutzelbourg, Lorraine. France in 1828, the first family along with the closely related Bauer family to settle in to Peru, Bronson Township, Huron County. Ohio..
Catherine came with her family from Külsheim, Baden, Germany, to Peru, Bronson Township, Huron County. Ohio.
Augustin and Katherine (sic) were married in the above parish July 14, 1835. (Available parish records for the marriage are missing - the parish being in an infant stage - but the marriage is transcribed from county records). Their first child, Maria Anna, was born April 10, 1836. (St. Alphonsus church records).
NOTE: Birth and death dates location are from death certificate. The record of her birth/baptism is also missing from available church records.
The Ursuline Sisters of Toledo branched from that order in Cleveland, Ohio and was still a part of the Cleveland Diocese. In early 1884, Bishop Gilmour requested Toledo Ursulines to send teacher nuns to Montana to establish schools. All thirty volunteered, but the bishop hand picked six of whom Sister Louisa was one. Just when Sister Louisa returned to Toledo is not known at this point but she is listed in the 1900 census residing in the Ursuline Convent in Toledo.
