Larry "Bugs" Hardin, 64, of Andrews died Saturday, August 13, 2011 in a Chattanooga, TN hospital. He was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. "Bugs" had been a timber cutter for over 40 years. He was a member and deacon of the Mtn. View Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was the son of the late Berdie R. and Clara Kelley Hardin. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Hardin, and four brothers, Kenneth, Clinton, Clarence "Bo", and Carl Hardin.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Nancy Jackson Hardin; a daughter, Kathy Hardin Anderson and husband, Philip of Andrews; a son, Barry Hardin and wife, Mitzi of Loganville, GA; three sisters, Betty Evans of Nantahala, Meredith Higdon of Andrews, and Lucille West of Inman, SC; a brother, Clay Eddie Hardin of Andrews; and two grandsons, Justin Quade and Ethan Blake Hardin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 17 in the Andrews First Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Hardin officiating. Interment will be in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce and Brian Rose, Roger Conley, Danny Derreberry, Danny Cross, and William "Bucky" Kelley.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews where the body will be until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.

The family requests memorials be made in memory of Larry "Bugs" Hardin to the Mtn. View Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 784, Andrews, NC 28901.
