Mass of the Christian burial for Sabina C. Sporrer of Dedham will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dedham.

Mrs. Sporrer, 94, died Sunday Feb. 18, 2007 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids.

The Rev. Anthony Pick will preside at the Mass, assisted by Deacon Louis Meiners. Lector will be Trish Wieland~Lingenfelter. Gift bearers will be Marvin Sporrer, Jan Wieland, LaVonne Thobe, Joan Irlmeier and Cletus Sporrer. Servers will be Chris Sporrer and Jesse Sporrer. Eucharistic ministers will be Arlene Wanninger, Melvin Sporrer, Audrey Behrens and Bernice Thobe. The Templeton Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Dedham American Legion Auxiliary will form an honor guard.

Casket Bearers will be John Wanninger, Greg Sporrer, Jeff Behrens, Mike Thobe, Phil Irlmeier, Scott Sporrer, Paul Irlmeier, Jason Sporrer, Bill Thobe and Kurt Sporrer.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Dedham.

Visitation starts at 2:30 and the CDA will lead a rosary at 3 Wednesday afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. St. Joseph Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Thomas Rest Haven Assisted Living Fund in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home or church.

A daughter of Bernard and Rose (Schnitter) Heithoff, she was born Jan. 2, 1913, at Templeton, attended Sacred Heart School there and spent her younger years in the community.

She and Leonard W. Sporrer were married Oct. 27, 1936, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton.

The Sporrers farmed west of Dedham until 1945 then moved into Dedham and operated a meat market until 1954, when they returned to their farm. They moved back into Dedham in 1971.

Mrs. Sporrer was a member of St. Joseph Parish and Ladies Guild, a 70~year member of the CDA and charter member of the Dedham American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and playing cards.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard, of Dedham; 10 children: Arlene Wanninger of Coon Rapids, Marvin Sporrer and wife Susie of Dedham, Jerry Sporrer and wife Wanda of Carroll, LaVonne Thobe of Carroll, Bernice Thobe and husband Marvin of Audubon, Jan Wieland of Templeton, Audrey Behrens and husband Bob of Manning, Melvin Sporrer and wife Kathy of Portsmouth, Joan Irlmeier of Coon Rapids and Cletus Sporrer and wife Bev of Templeton; 51 grandchildren; 65 great~grandchildren; four great~great~grandchildren; a brother, Harold Heithoff, of Templeton; and sisters~ and brothers~in~law: Sally Heithoff of Coon Rapids, Helene Heithoff of Manning, Helen Heithoff of Audubon, Lawrence and Marjorie Schultes of Carroll, Elaine Sporrer of Templeton, Mary Trecker of Carroll, Arlene Kasperbauer of Dedham, Joe and Mary Kay Sporrer of Dedham, Harold and Rita Sporrer of Manning and Rosie Hacker of Gray.

Mrs. Sporrer was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joyce Irlmeier; two infant sons; a granddaughter, Mary Ann Wanninger; three sons~in~law: Don Wanninger, John Thobe, and Gary Irlmeier; a sister, Mildred Schultes; and four brothers: Marcellus, Raymond, Clarus, and Lawrence Heithoff.
