My Father Gregor was born as Vasilé Gheorghe SERBAN in Braïla- RUMANIA August 1th.1909.

He started as a child in the Orchestra of his Father,Cymbalplayer Andrei SERBAN.

His Father Andrei presented his 4 year old Son Gregor a little Violin, bought by him when he visited the USA.

In 1916 Gregor Played for the Tsar of Rusia at the age of 7

Gregor was 12 years old when he was send to his Uncle Codolban in PARIS to continue his Music Study and Education.

Lather he studied in Berlin on the Conservatorium of Berlin

In the year 1931,after they worked in different places in GERMANY,the Orchestra came to HOLLAND and started in the famous Village SCHEVENINGEN,located at the seaside near The HAGUE,in a Restaurant called "The Princess Pavilion"
This was their first Dutch performance.

Gregor's Father died 1934 in Hotel L'Europe in AMSTERDAM.

During WW2 Gregor went"Underground",because he did'n want to work in GERMANY and stay outh of the hands of the Nazi, the underground changed his papers from SERBAN to SERBANESCU so it was more a Rumanian name instead of a famous Gipsy violin players name.

Short after the War was the"Golden Time" for Gregor's kind of Music.
