Ira McCook Sr., 81, died March 26 at Bacon County Hospital. He was a native of Coffee County and a retired auto-paint and body repairman. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy and a Baptist.Survivors include his wife, Annette (nee Buchan) McCook of Alma; four sons, Billy McCook of Jacksonville, Fla., Bobby McCook and Ira McCook Jr., both of Alma, and Michael Haines of Palatka, Fla.; three daughters, Betty Jean Sturdivant of Interlachen, Fla., Peggy Wolfe of Texas and Shelia Haines of Middleburg, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Deen-Jackson Funeral Home.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at Deen-Jackson Funeral Home, burial in Pinelawn Memorial Gardens.
