At the Hazelwood Sanatorium in Louisville on last Monday morning, Miss Melissa Board, oldest daughter of Mr. J. M. Board, passed into the Great Beyond. For several months she had been a sufferer from tuberculosis and everything possible was done for her, but to no avail. When quite a young girl her mother died and she was called upon to assist in rearing her younger sisters and brother and in this duty her unselfish devotion was well worthy of emulation. From her childhood she had been a devoted member of the Christian church and until her health failed she was ever a faithful worker in all religious and charitable works. Wherever she was called upon to perform any kind of work she won the esteem of her employer and her associates and in appreciation of her loyal work the enployees of the Blue Front Department Store attended her funeral in a body. Miss Board was 34 years of age and is survived by her father, two sisters, Misses Myrtle and Eunice, and one brother, Mr. Bryan Board. Her life was brief but abundantly full of good deeds and the sweetness of her life will always remain with those with whom she came in contact. Her funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church by Dr. L. E. Sellers and interment was in Spring Hill cemetery.
