Politician. He received recognition as a Canadian politician, who was the first Canadian of Italian origin to be appointed to the Senate. He was born on March 18, 1934 in Cattolica Eraclea, Italy. After having immigrated to Canada at age 20, he became a wealthy businessman in Québec, a distinguished leader of the Italian community in Montréal and a prominent organizer for the Liberal Party of Canada. On December 23, 1976, he was appointed to the Senate for the division of Repentigny. He died August 3, 1997 while in office.
