Mary (Kuipers) Jacobs was born in Bay Settlement, Brown County, WI in May 1853 to Johannes "John" Kuipers and Elizabeth Vandenberg. In September 1873 she married Theodore Jacobs at Holy Cross Church in Bay Settlement. It was part of a double ceremony, as her brother John Kuipers wed Theodore's sister Minnie Jacobs at ths same ceremony.
