Hulbert enlisted Sept. 5, 1861 as a Cpl. in Co. H of the 83rd PA Volunteer Infantry, attached to the 5th Army of Potomac. He fought in the 2nd Battle of Bull Run, Antietam & Fredricksburg. Hulbert was discharged March 30, 1863, after being injured, taken ill and being hospilized.
He belonged to the GAR (Linesville Post 352) and the Center Road Grange 502.
He died from complications of his old illness and injuries received from the Civil War. He's buried beside his wife, Delania.
