1860 census: Living in Ruglas and Martha Poor's house in Boothbay with his brother Nathaniel 24, and sister Eliza 16. He was working as a fisherman as was his brother and Mr. Poor.
1870 census: Living in Boothbay in his brother Simon's home with his sister-in-law Mary and nephews Franklin and Lyman and niece Julia. He is 30 years old and the record states he is 'at home' which may indicate he is not working. Record also states he cannot read or write (neither can Simon).
1880 census: Living in Boothbay and listed as a boarder in the Frederick K. Giles home, his sister Eliza is Frederick's wife. They have six children, four boys (one is named Elbridge a testament to how much she cares about her brother) and two daughters. Elbridge is 40 and it's noted that he is "crippled, falling of bowels" (could mean bowel prolapse).
Notes: Elbridge's sister Sarah married Hiram Tibbetts which is probably how he came to be buried in the Tibbetts cemetery.
