The Oklahoman, Friday, March 30, 1945: Pfc James W. Cochran, 31, son of Mr & Mrs C. B. Cochran, Nichols Hills, has been killed in action while fighting with the Third Army; his parents were notified Wednesday. A member of the law firm, Richardson, Shartell, Cochran and Pruet since 1936, Cochran has been in the Army one year. He was admitted to the bar in 1936 and was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mrs Betty Conwell Cochran, Phoenix, AZ and his son, Michael Conwell Cochran, 2 1/2.
