Family story passed down to me by my Mom: Jane Loker used to sit by the fire, and read the Bible while smoking her pIpe. She also made the clothes for her family by spinning wool, as in the artwork shown.

Daughter of Henry Loker (1724 – 1813) and Hannah Barber (1737 – 1829). Both of her parents descend from royalty. She was the wife of James Calderwood (1763-1825).James Calderwood and Jane Loker had the following children: Lydia Calderwood (1794 – 1813),Joshua Calderwood (1795 – 1881), Hannah Calderwood (1798 – 1856), Lucy Calderwood (1800 – After 1860),Luther Calderwood (1802 – 1866), Rachel Calderwood (1806 – 1894),James Calderwood (1809 – 1876)and Cordelia Calderwood (1814 – 1816).
