George was a Presbyterian minister and served as a Chaplin in the Civil War with Company 1st Virginia Rockbridge, 1st Light Artillery Battery. In 1860 he married Eliza Parke ANDERSON. They had six sons and two daughters. Their children were Thomas Walker, Robert Anderson, George Hudson, Ellen Tapscot, Parke Poindexter, Frances "Fanny" Lightfoot, James Blair, and Beverly Tucker.
