Edward Horney grew up in Farmington. He enlisted in the 9th NH Volunteer Infantry, serving in H Company as a musician 1862 - 1865. He settled in Rochester with his wife Laura and he worked in the local shoe factory. He suffered a stroke and died at age 75 in 1910.
