Mrs. Ortiz died at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Pedro López and Ramona Sánchez. She was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico and moved to the USA in the 1940's.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Felipe Ortiz, Sr.; her devoted sons, Felipe Ortiz Jr. of Rhode Island and Jose Ortiz and his wife Veronica of Bridgeport; a brother, Adalberto Lopez of Guayama, Puerto Rico; a daughter, Luz B. Rivera Lopez of Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico; a half sister, Cecilia Reyes of Orange City, Florida; grandchildren, Vivian Velazquez, Inocencio, Jr., Lisa, Ernest, and Diane Ortiz of Puerto Rico; Christopher and Ivory Ortiz of Waterbury, Silvia Ortiz of Bridgeport, Efrem Ortiz of Rhode Island, Tina-Marie and Yvonne Ortiz of Beacon Falls and a special niece, Milagros Reyes Harp.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two half brothers, José Luis and Perfecto Reyes; a son, Inocencio Ortiz and a grandson, Benjamin Velazquez.
