He was an avid LSU fan and loved to hunt and fish. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Nichols; and a sister, Helen Gomez.
He is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Kathleen Robinson Nichols of Rogersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and David Gray, Murfreesboro; two grandsons, Nickolas and Dakota Gray; four sisters, Louise Page, Thelma Babin, Queen Parker and Ruby Bossier, all of Louisiana; three brothers, Jim Nichols, John B. Nichols and Morris Nichols, all of Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Colboch-Price Chapel, with Rev. Hugh Allan Hale officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery. Colboch-Price Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
