Miss Ellen Burnsides, a well-known old lady of Jackson, died at her home on Bridge Street last Wednesday night after an extended illness due to dropsy. She was about 60 years of age and is survived by one brother, James, who resides in Indiana; and 2 sisters, Mary and Jane of this city. Her sister Mary is seriously ill at the present time with typhoid fever, and the fact makes more pathetic the affliction of the little family at this time.
The family came originally from the Antioch neighborhood, but the 3 sisters moved to Jackson about 20 years ago. They are well-known to everbody and have the sympathy of all in their trouble.
