MR. AND MRS. W.H. PADGETT ARE CALLED BY DEATH
Mrs. Nancy C. Padgett, aged 78, died January 17th at her home on Andalusia, Route D., and her husband died January 19th. Both deaths were caused by pneumonia following flu.
Mr. and Mrs. Padgett were both natives of Covington County and were pioneers in the community in which they lived.
Funeral services for Mrs. Padgett were conducted on the 18th by Dr. L.E. Barton of this city and the funeral of Mr. Padgett was conducted on the 20th by Rev. G.H. Shears.
A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral services on both occasions this attesting the esteem in which these good people were held. The bodies were laid to rest in Pleasant Home Cemetery.
They are survived by three sons and three daughters, Mrs. W.L. McGowin, Andalusia, Route D.; Mrs. R.G. Ward, Andalusia; Mrs. George Hart, Brooklyn; Mr. D.C. Padgett, Andalusia; J.A. Padgett, Andalusia; R.D. and W.L. Padgett, Birmingham, all of whom were with their parents during their last illness.
