Shirley Ann Taylor, 68, of Hendersonville, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011, at the Elizabeth House following a lengthy illness.

A resident of Henderson County for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Gurley W. Gordon and Myrtle Dickson Gordon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Taylor, Jr., who died in 1990; one son, John T. Taylor, III; three brothers, R.V., Billy & Jerry Gordon; and two sisters, Millie & Frances. She was of the Christian faith.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, & friend to many, she will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sherri Montalvo and her husband, Nico, of Naples, FL, Tina Taylor of Hendersonville; six grandchildren, Theresa, Angel, Ariceli, Alicia, John T., and James; six great-grandchildren, Jia, Jayda, Angel, Brandon, Gian, and Giovanni; along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Thos. Shepherd’s Church Street Chapel with Rev. Mike Engel officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Garden, Clinton, SC.
