PANTER, DORIS S., age 73, of Birmingham, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Doris graduated from Shades Valley High School in 1954. She dearly loved her school and enjoyed working with the Shades Valley Reunion Group. She was a long-time member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Doris was preceded in death by her father, E.B. Stansell; her mother, Agnes Grace Newsome; and her sister, Jane S. Bailey. Survivors include her loving husband of over 52 years, William "Bill" Panter; her son, William "Barry" Panter; her daughter, Donna P. Livesay (Ken); her grandchildren, Brad Livesay, Whitney K. Panter, Brett Livesay and Kari Panter; her sister, Diane Reid (Bill); and many loving nieces, nephews and other family members. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her and will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, April 10, 2009 from the sanctuary of Asbury United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Lacey and Michael Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Ed Chapman, Ben Helton, Tom Williams, Macky Warren, John Baumgartner, Rudy Hauenstein, Dal Haltiwanger and Don Davis.
