.....Karen was "57 going on 28" when she passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, following a protracted struggle with cancer that began in November 2004.
Karen was from Houston but had lived in the Fort Worth area since 1975. She was an active member of the Church of Christ, a popular Latin teacher at Aledo HighSchool and a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She had a strong impact on countless people over the course of her life and will be remembered for her kindness, determination and laughter.
Survivors: Husband, Carlos, her children, Claire, Sol and Rebecca, her identical twin sister, Sharon and husband Mark and their children Anya and Hol; her brother Paul and wife Ginny and their children Davis, Tal and Mattie; and a multitude of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews...
Funeral service will be 10 AM, Saturday at the Aledo church of Christ with burial in the family cemetery in MidwayTX. Visitation 6 to 8 PM Friday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chape. Donations may be made to a scholarship fund in Karen's name. For more information contact Ron Johns of OakRidge Church of Christ, 817-441-1875.
Karen was my growing up friend in Houston where our families worshipped at the Lindale church of Christ. She graduated from ReaganHigh School with my husband in the Class of 1967 and as teenagers, young adults and then married couples we spent many hours talking, visiting, bowling, and laughing....I will miss the everyday routineness of knowing that Karen is no longer around to enjoy her friendship....Rest in Peace Dear Friend....
