Born Aug. 23, 1947, in Hahira, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur C. Powell and the late Estell Carter Powell Wheeler. She lived most of her life in Adel.
She attended Forest Hill Freewill Baptist Church where she served as clerk and treasurer for more than 25 years. She worked at Day's Studio and Rowan Drugs and was a homemaker.
