Mary Fowler Hollifield, 83, of 7113 Lake Myra Road, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at her home.
Mary was born April 29, 1927 in Wake County, to the late William Shelton Fowler and Alice Beasley Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Gaither Hollifield, on February 1, 2007. Together, she and Junior raised their family and farmed.
Surviving her are, daughters, Mary H. Allen, of Clayton, Betty H. Ruth-Basden, of Zebulon, and Angela H. Stephenson of the home; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and a brother, Needham Ray Fowler, of Monroe.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sam, and a sister, Grace.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel
Burial will be at Central Baptist Church Cemetery, 11109 Poole Road, Wendell, NC 27591.
The family will receive relative and friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home.
